HOW TO HELP

HOW TO HELP

There are several ways a person can send money to help them.

~ As of August 17, 2008, the church we attend just made it possible to be able to have the money tax deductible, if it is given to the church, since they are now taking this on as a "Missions Project" ~

YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE YOUR CHECK PAYABLE TO MOUNT PLEASANT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND DESIGNATE IT FOR "GHANA MISSIONS" AT THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS:

The name and address of the church is:

Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church
3009 Mount Pleasant Blvd.
Roanoke, Virginia 24014
Telephone - 1-540-427-3064

One factor that makes donating to "Ghana Missions" is that 100% of the money collected goes directly for their help, with the exception of the $9.46 Wal-Mart MoneyGram fee (if sending under $500). There are no salaries, no extra expenses at all, that come out of the money. They receive the money within 10 minutes from the United States to Africa, which is incredible. Of course, one must e-mail Abraham and give him the information, so he can pick it up, but it's the fastest and safest way of getting monetary help to them. They are in great need. May God bless you for any help you can give.

Also, money can be sent in the following way. But since the United States doesn't recognize help for Ghana as a qualifying charity, it will be ONLY be tax-deductible if written to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, since they are taking this on as "Ghana Missions" project.

However, in the United States, a person can go to any Wal-Mart at the Customer Service Desk and purchase a MoneyGram. This is the safest way of making sure that it reaches Pastor Abraham in Ghana, Africa. There is a small fee for purchasing a MoneyGram, and you will need to have the MoneyGram sent to:

Abraham K. Gaisie
CITY: Bolgatanga
COUNTRY: Ghana
Password QUESTION (of your choice) and Password ANSWER of your choice
TELEPHONE: 233-072-22724 / 233-072-93055
MOBILE: 027-5759531

Then e-mail him at:

abrahamkgaisie3@yahoo.com

and let him know the money is on it's way, so that he can pick it up over there, once sent. The following information will be needed to give to Pastor Abraham, when purchasing a MoneyGram as follows:

(1)- The Receipt Number
(2)- The Amount Sent
(3)- The Date Sent
(4)- A Password (Of Your Choice)
AND
The Password Answer Given For Abraham To Pick Up The Money

If you are led to give and just want to send cash, you can do so by sending it directly to Pastor Abraham. But out of the different cash envelopes I had mailed over the last couple of years, before I started sending via MoneyGram only, 3 of those cards with money inside, NEVER made it to Abraham and the Orphans. However, if you wish to try, you can mail a card to Abraham at the following address:

Abraham K. Gaisie
P.O. Box 647
Bolgatanga, Upper East Region,
Ghana, West Africa

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT THE MONEY INSIDE OF A GREETING CARD AND ENVELOPE, THAT IS NON-"SEE-THROUGH" ENVELOPE. TRY AND SEND 1 TO 3 BILLS ONLY, OF ANY CURRENCY AMOUNT, SO THAT THE CARD WILL NOT BE SO THICK THAT IT SOMEONE MIGHT "THINK" MONEY IS ENCLOSED AND STEAL IT.

In the United States, please take the card into the post office and have them place the stamp on it, and they will stamp it FIRST CLASS. Everything that goes over there is First Class, because it no longer goes by boat, only by air. However, it takes 10 to 15 working days for any mail to arrive there.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT...THE PRICE OF THE POSTAGE STAMP FOR AFRICA IS $0.94, as of date on June 29th, 2008, so be sure to take it to the post office so they can stamp it FIRST CLASS AND PUT THAT $0.94 STAMP ON IT.

Please e-mail Pastor Abraham to let him know that the card is on it's way, at the following e-mail address:

abrahamkgaisie3@yahoo.com

Pastor Abraham wrote on July 11, 2008, that they would welcome anyone or groups who could come over and help by volunteering to help with tuitoring the children, after school. It is a very needed area. Please consider making this a mission project or talk to your church or group about helping them. If you can help, as directed by God, please write to Pastor Abraham via e-mail or using the physical address or phone numbers above, and discuss it with him.

OF COURSE, PRAYER IS ALWAYS WELCOME FOR THEM! THANK YOU FOR ANY WAY THAT YOU CAN HELP!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!
